Gay Honeymoon Destinations

As gay marriage is becoming legal in more and more countries and American states, many will be wondering where they can go on their honeymoon. We’ve compiled a list of the best places to go if you’re gay newlyweds.

Tel Aviv, Israel

Tel Aviv is a large metropolitan city in Israel on the Mediterranean coastline. A relatively new city, it has a youthful vibe and a vibrant gay community. This summer France’s first married gay couple honeymooned there to great journalistic cover, cementing this city as a top destination for gay couples.

The Caribbean

If sun, sea and surf is your thing, then there’s nothing better than the white sands and clear blue seas of the Caribbean. Stick to Puerto Rico, Saint Barts, Sint Maarten, Saint-Martin and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as the other islands are not as friendly.

Hawaii

Hawaii is a traditional honeymoon destination for any newlywed couple, and it’s equally good for gay couples. Go surfing in Honolulu, discover historic Lahaina or escape to a secluded island like Koloa and enjoy this American state like your desert island. Most of the hotels offer even offer union ceremonies and honeymoon packages for same-sex couples.

Las Vegas

If you fancy a bit of glitz, glamour and gambling, then Las Vegas is the ‘sin city’ for you. There are shows, nightclubs, restaurants, bars and hotels galore, so you’ll never struggle to do think of something to do. With a number of gay-only resorts, most of the city is gay-friendly, with hot spots being Mandalay Bay and Paradise Road.

Paris

The ultimate honeymoon destination, Paris is romantic for couples the world over. Considered by many as the most beautiful city in the world, this has to be a serious contender for the honeymoon destination. It’s a very gay friendly destination, having recently legalised gay marriage. If you fancy travelling outside of Paris, then Reims (where champagne was invented) is also a lovely alternative.

Mykonos, Greece

Golden beaches, clear waters, iconic white buildings and a relaxed atmosphere, the most popular Greek island has lots to offer. It has a stylish nightlife, secluded northern beaches as well as party beaches in the south, beautiful scenery and stunning villas. A very gay-friendly place, it has even been described as a ‘Mecca for gays’.
