Spring Date Ideas

Now that spring is rolling around many people are looking forward to date opportunities that don’t involve being indoors.  When the winter weather is lifting we are all looking for excuses to spend more time outdoors or just change up the routine.  You can even change up your dating routine, and you’ll find that these spring date ideas don’t have to break the bank, either!

Visit the zoo or the aquarium.  While there may be some indoor aspects of these places, going to the zoo or the aquarium during a sunny spring day can be a lot of fun.  You can layer your clothes so you can take off a jacket if it is warm or you can keep it on if the wind is blowing or it is not as warm as the sun would lead you to believe.  Being out in the fresh air will be a lot of fun!

Stop at a nearby park and have lunch on a blanket.  This is a really simple date that can cost you as little as a lunch that you pack and bring with you.  You can sit on the blanket, eat your lunch, and just enjoy one another’s company.  If you want to bring some joy and laughter to the date you can invite your date to swing on the swings with you!  This is a lot of fun, especially if you haven’t done it in awhile.

Why not go to a sporting event?  It’s in the spring months that being outdoors at a sporting event finally becomes tolerable.  Invite your date to your favorite sporting event or buy some tickets to their favorite team’s game and surprise them!  This will be a lot of fun and may allow you to enjoy being outside for the first time since the fall!

Why not check out the local museums?  It’s often in the spring months when the local museums start holding special events or change up their displays so you can take in something new and interesting when you visit.  Make sure that you discuss what type of museums that you both like to visit so you can both have a good time while visiting the museum because not everyone likes the same sort of art!

Go fishing!  Throw the poles in the back of the car, grab some lunch to go, and head out to the lake or river and spend a couple hours fishing.  Even if you don’t catch anything, or if you don’t keep it if you do, this can be a great way to spend the afternoon!  If your date doesn’t fish, this is a great opportunity to teach them.

Go for a hike!  If you both like the outdoors and the weather permits, why not go for a hike in the mountains or local National Park?  This will allow you to get some exercise, fresh air, and enjoy the uninterrupted company of one another.  Hiking can be very romantic because it often feels as though you have the whole world to yourself.

As you can see, there are a lot of really fun date ideas that are perfect for the warming spring weather.  Don’t be afraid to think outside the box a bit and enjoy the natural beauty of your area.  There are a lot of fun things to do, none of them have to be expensive!
