How to Land That Second Date

Many people find that they have what they think are a lot of really great first dates.  Everything goes well, you seem to really quick, and then…nothing!  Why can’t you score that second date?  The fact of the matter is that there are some things that you can do to help you get that coveted second date that may allow you make a go of a connection that you make on a first date.

1. Don’t leave it all on the floor on the first date.  In other words, you have to leave them wanting more.  If you do everything that you can possibly do on the first date, they don’t have a reason to call you back for a second date.  This doesn’t mean that you can’t flirt and have fun, it just means that you need to leave something to the imagination.  When you leave them wanting more they will have a hard time NOT calling you for a second date.

2. Make sure that you have fun.  People pursue other people who like to have a good time.  If you make sure that you let loose and enjoy the date you will find that the other person is really drawn to you, and because you are having fun they will have fun, too.  This is important because everyone wants to be with someone who is fun…so have fun!

3. Be honest about who you are and what you are looking for.  If you are honest and up front it will show.  People like honest people, so when you come across as though you have nothing to hide, you’re more likely to make a connection and prompt someone to call you back.

4. Call them and ask them out for a second date.  You don’t always have to wait for the other person to make the first move.  Give it a couple days, and if they don’t call you back, call them!  Many people are just like you, they want the other person to initiate making the second date.

As you can see, landing that second date doesn’t have to be difficult.  It is not only about what you do on the date, it is about what you do after the date.  You should definitely make it known at the end of the first date if you would like to go out again, as this will make the person more likely to call or at least be honest with you about the chance for another date so you know where you stand instead of just hoping.  A second date doesn’t have to be difficult, you just need to make the right moves to get there.
